"The Big Battle" is a weekly twitter debate, which consists of eminent panelists and the bigbattle team representing twitter users discussing or debating a topic. We initiated it in April, 2011 and have received good feedback from personaliites like Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan, Gul Panag, Prem Panicker, Venkat Ananth, Devinder Sharma ,Rajesh Kalra ,Lt. Gen H S Panag (R) , Shailesh Pandey, Andrew Buncombe and more who joined our panel. We have conducted over 60 twitter debates in this period and have flooding traffic at our blog.
Our aim and motto: The aim of our platform is to bring best people on twitter world to discuss and debate issues relevant for the nation and also provide voice to our common citizens. Our motto is “Learn, Spread and Debate”. Learn from panelist and other fellow audience, Spread your view point and lastly Debate with anyone who are against you.
Who are we looking for ?
Presently, we have two teams: 1. Content team. 2. Publicity team. We are looking for volunteers for both of our teams. We will compromise with the quality of our team, even if it means no volunteer!
1. Content team- This is the main team which is under founder of “The Big Battle” directly and thus quality of this team is not compromised. Content team is responsible for all most everything related to content of debate, starting with searching topic, finalizing panelists and then making questions. The work is challenging but when best brains meet, great debates take place. Your role initially will be to learn about the debate platform and then you enter the team. Knowledge is never ending and it’s a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to learn!
2. Publicity team- “The Big Battle” publicity team is restricted to twitter only. As we are aware that the potential of bringing people from facebook, google+ etc to our twitter debates are enormous, this will exactly be your jobs profile! You will be working on this venture alone or in a small team under the leadership of founder/co-founder of platform. The opportunity to make a important place in “The Big Battle” is enormous here and thus publicity team membership is not for some loose hearted people!
Screening:
1. Content Team: As we have already stated that we cannot comprise even with our volunteers as they will play a important role for the platform. We will be taking an online 10 question discussion/test on latest issue happening in our nation. Afraid of tests? Call it a discussion! Your way of chatting/writing, knowledge and trying to learn spirit will take you to our team!
2. Publicity Team: In publicity team, you have a different kind of test. You have to make a small presentation on “Using social media for debate” which should be 10 slides long. After that, you will be assessed over chat or phone regarding your ability to think big and different.
What you get ?
1. One appreciation letter from the founder sent to your home.
2. One certificate if you work for a period of 2 month or longer.
3. Opportunity to learn this new kind of model in “Social Media Journalism” .
