Dear Yuva Bharat,

What's up Bharat's mission is to create a physical and online platform to unite artists, intellectuals and professionals focused on social progress. To do this, it creates partnerships with socially conscious and innovative organizations to develop content and programs that promote freedom, inclusion and unity, in a way that is accessible and attractive to all people, regardless of age, income or education.

These content and program activities are carried out online on the What's up Bharat social networking platform and on the ground through events and activities at the JBC, in the form of a variety of useful services including art, events, library, multimedia, polling, retail, café, and various programs in tie-ups with our partners.

To expand our outreach, we are currently seeking 4 to 8 motivated interns in the age bracket of 18 to 25 to help us co-create What’s up Bharat in various youth networks through a creatively structured approach. The duration of the internship would be 1 month starting from December 15.

The stipend offered is INR 5000/-.

Skills Required:

Clear understanding of and alignment with What’s up Bharat’s vision and mission

Strong leadership/inter-personal skills and ability to engage with a variety of audiences

High degree of dedication, focus and attention to detail in all work

Superior organizational skills for efficient planning and execution of campaigns

Prior experience in managing and organizing events would be helpful

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Vertical

Core Focus

Preferred Background/Experience of the Intern

Programs

Tie-up with NGOs and Youth Organizations to expand What’s up Bharat’s scope of impact

Basic understanding of the development sector – volunteering/ prior or current engagement with an NGO/ youth body

Content

Curate creative content for the website, social media platform and polling application

Creative writing and critical thinking skills.

Outreach

Engage your direct and extended network with the concept of What’s up Bharat, and encourage their participation through polls, photo essays, articles and art submissions.

Strong leadership and communication skills apart from direct/indirect access to various youth networks.

Web Development

Support the Web team in launching the Phase 2 of the website by January 26

Basic knowledge of Web Technologies; web 2.0; php, jQuery, HTML, CSS; CMS – Drupal, proficiency in Adobe Design tools such as photoshop

Events

Lead the planning and execution of at least 1 event per week

Event Management experience
