The year 2011-2012 saw us taking the \"huge leap\" when we conducted nation\'s first ever space engineering competition, National Students\' Space Challenge (NSSC) at IIT Kharagpur in association with ISRO.
The four main events in NSSC were MoonBot, Submerge (Robotics), Lift-Off (Water-Rocketry) and MoonLab (Paper-Presentation) apart from a hoard of secondary events. We had the honor of having Guest lectures delivered by Dr. Dibyendu Nandi, Scientist at IISER and Mr. Jaswinder Singh Khoral, Deputy Project Director of Chandrayaan Mission 1.
The 3-day event saw an outside participation of more than 500 students and in-house participation of more than 200 students.
Such an awesome response in NSSC\'s premier year has charged us up and we now plan to have an even bigger NSSC in the year 2012-2013.
We hope to reach out to students in every nook and corner of the country and prepare them to represent India in the frontiers of space science.
Are you a space enthusiast looking for a first-hand experience at solving some of the real-time challenges faced by engineers all over the world? Just want to have a good time learning stuff about space technology and catching up on astronomy? Then, NSSC is just the thing for you!
