On the occasion of the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, INBAR and the Federation of Hong Kong Industries are organizing the International Bamboo and Rattan Product Ideas Competition to help drive green practices in cities around the world. The competition theme will respond to the Expo's theme "Better City, Better Life" by focusing on four categories- clothing, food, shelter and transport.   Selection Criteria Creativity in process, design and innovation Overall and measurable resource, water and energy conservation Contribution to new uses, new habits and new green environments Adaptation of existing designs, fusion and mixing of natural materials into existing contexts   How to apply The competition is open to all, including individuals and teams coming from the non-profit and the private sectors. Multi-disciplinary, international and indigenous community team entries are strongly encouraged.
