Course Summary
Android Bootcamp is a hands-on training course for designing and building mobile applications using Android open-source platform. It is for anyone who wants to obtain a solid understanding of what Android is and how to develop applications using Android as the platform. This Bootcamp is designed to provide essential skills and experience with developing applications on Android mobile platform. Throughout the course, the students will develop a real-life application, which can serve as a basis for their future Android projects. Eclipse and Android SDK are used as the development environment in the class; prior experience with Java can be very beneficial.
Students will learn to setup Eclipse-based development tools, the Android SDK, all essential features and advanced capabilities of APIs such as background services, accelerometers, graphics and GPS. The course challenges students with programming exercises at the end of each module, the solutions to which will be provided. In addition to classroom exercise, students can further their design & development skills through real world programming projects. Twitter application development for Android is a popular choice by most students, but it is only limited by their interest and imagination of applying the concepts learnt. This hands-on approach rapidly builds the confidence of new programmers, because all programming concepts are presented in the context in which they will be used.

Are there any pre-requisites?
