Applications have been invited for Mathematics Training and Talent Search programme (MT & TS 2010) funded by National Board for Higher Mathematics. The MTTS programme will conducted be at three levels—level ‘O’, level I and level II.In level ‘O’, there will be courses in linear algebra, analysis and number theory / discrete mathematics. In level I and II there will be courses on algebra, analysis and topology. Last date for the receipt of completed applications is February 27.
Eligibility :
Level ‘O’: first year undergraduate (B.Sc./ B.Stat./ B.Tech.) students with mathematics as one of their subjects.
Level I: second and final year undergraduate (B.Sc./ B.Stat./ B.Tech.) students with mathematics as one of their subjects.
Level II- first year postgraduate (M.Sc./ M. Stat., M.Tech.) students with mathematics as one of the subjects.
There are three venues for MTTS 2010—Regional Institute of Education, Mysore during May 17- June 12, 2010 (All 3 levels), Harish Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad during May 24-June 19, 2010 (Level ‘O’), Visvabharathi University, Santhiniketan, West Bangal, during May 24-June 19, 2010 (Level ‘O’).
Application form and other details can be had from the head, Department of Mathematics, of institutions concerned or can be downloaded from the website www.mtts.org.in/apply. The selection will be based on merit and the recommendation letter from a Mathematics professor closely acquainted with the candidate.
