Tata Ryerson Limited (TRyL) encourages students from various Business Schools & Engineering Institutes from all over the country to undertake Internship Projects, having duration of 8 weeks.For every trainee, a project guide is assigned who generally has vast experience & knowledge in the particular field.Tata Ryerson Ltd is wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel. With 8 large processing units, 17 sales locations and a host of partners like external processing agencies, suppliers, retailers and other stakeholders, today Tata Ryerson is India’s largest steel service organisation.
During the tenure of the project, there are mid-point assessments, which are generally intimated by the concerned project-guides. The trainees are expected to have regular interactions with their guides, for the purpose of the assessments. At the end of the tenure of project, the trainees have to conduct a presentation of their reports in front of the senior management. Depending on the performance & necessary evaluations, the trainees are suitably rewarded.
While hiring trainees, they assess the candidates on the following parameters:
- Functional/Technical knowledge
- Application of the desired knowledge
- Interpersonal (Behavioural) skills
- Flexibility & mobility
Applications are invited from various institutes for summer projects. After preparing the initial shortlist of the candidates, they conduct personal interviews, wherein the above-mentioned criteria are adjudged. Based on the candidates’ ability & mobility as well as the organisational fit, candidates are offered the projects. Candidates applying externally can send their CV at hrgroup@tata-ryerson.com.
